Saker Sportscar Challenge 2012
The beauty of Saker, is that it is an already well proven product, strongly established in Australia and the Netherlands for many years. The latter currently entering its sixth year of the hugely successful Saker Sportscar Challenge, with over sixty five cars having already been built.
The Saker has an outstanding appearance and is a pure racer that can easily compete with much more expensive race cars, like Porsche and BMW. It uses a strong-space frame chassis with a GRP sectional bodywork, including gull-wing doors (GT model) and runs on Avon slicks.
The Dutch National Racing Team (DNRT) will continue organizing the dutch Saker Sportscar Challenge in the Netherlands, the dutch one make series which has been succesful for years. The DNRT is proud to anounce that this year the Saker Sportscar Challenge drivers will have the unique chance to race the racetrack of Spa Francorchamps as a part of the Saker Sportscar Challenge, followed by a race in the UK and the final race during 'Saker World Final' on Zandvoort.
JPR Group is delighted to be creating a one-make Saker Sportscar Challenge series in the UK in 2011. Organisers since 2002 of the hugely successful and popular Fun Cup race series, JPR will initially run two one hour Saker Sportscar Challenge races, the same weekend as the Fun Cup events.
The Saker Sportscar Challenge is a fantastic opportunity for drivers to compete in a stunning, powerful endurance car, with sensible running costs. The main aim of the Challenge is simple….to enable as many drivers as possible to compete in equal, but very competitive racing cars, especially designed for motorsport. The concept involves racing an exciting car, but with a reasonable budget. The Saker Sportscar Challenge, will provide genuine value for money and hours of racing at the UK’s most prestigious and enjoyable circuits.
Running costs
The running costs for a season are low compared with other similar-performance brands. The cars competing in the Challenge can have one or two drivers, thus enabling expenses to be shared.
